Crickets
Crickets (Gryllidae) are an insect closely related to grasshoppers, which have a similar body structure, including hind jumping legs. Crickets feed on organic materials, as they are omnivorous scavengers. When there are no other food sources they even succumb to feeding on their own dead [2].
Crickets mate ate the end of summer, laying their eggs in Autumn, these then hatch in Spring, with a number of up to 200 nymphs per female. Crickets are found worldwide and live in trees, shrubs, grass and even underground [13].
